You give WakeCards a document. It finds the ideas worth remembering and writes cards in the same language as your source: English documents become English cards, Chinese documents become Chinese cards. You review them, rate how well you recalled each one, and run the deck again with the notes closed.
It is not a scanner and it is not a magic memory. It is a way to convert reading into recall practice.

Retrieving an answer from memory without looking at the source first.
You have read this page four times. Your brain has not read it once.
Active recall means pulling an answer out of memory instead of rereading the page. In practice you cover the answer, say it out loud, then check.

Repeat their main point back in your own words first, then share your view.
Knowing the tip is not the same as using the tip. Your group chat can tell the difference.
You say: So you felt hurt because I cut you off mid story. Then you explain what happened from your side.

The value of the next best option you gave up when you chose something else.
You spent two hours making a color-coded schedule instead of studying. That is opportunity cost with a laminating machine.
Opportunity cost is what you gave up to get what you chose. If you study for an hour, the opportunity cost is the next best alternative that hour could have been.
By default WakeCards is clean and neutral. Roast mode is an explicit opt-in you turn on yourself, and it is only for adults 18 and older. When it is on, the short note under each card gets a sharper tone. It is designed to target study habits, not people: your rereading, your color-coded schedule, your group chat. It is not designed to touch your family or your identity. Turn it off and the cards go back to plain.
